Konjac gum is an additive extracted from the tubers of the "Amorphophallus Konjac, mainly with a gelling, thickening and support function for additives of vegetable origin.
It is used in Japan and China in the form of flour.
Konjac gum can be contained in various products, such as gummy candies and chewing-gum; it is therefore very easy to overuse them if these foods are consumed frequently; in this case, the excess of konjac gum can cause flatulence, diarrhea and even poor assimilation of proteins.
