What is Kinesiological Science

Being a graduate in Specialized Kinesiology (I finished the 4 years of school and the final thesis) I will tell you about this still too little known - at least in Italy - Science.
Applied Kinesiology, Specialized or better Kinesiology Science, is the science that studies body language, also called "functional neurology".
Also due to the low popularity it enjoys in Italy, many people confuse kinesiology with kinesiology; there is a big difference between the two, as kinesiology is nothing more than the study of muscle mechanics.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) was born in 1964 in America thanks to the brilliant intuition of Dr. Goodheart chiropractor DC, who noticed that by touching specific points and manipulating specific structures of the body of his patients their muscle strength varied considerably and many disorders of unknown etiology and apparently inexplicable disappeared. After years of scientific research, it was concluded that through manual clinical evaluation of muscle function, variations in the central integration state of alpha motor neurons are identified.
These variations are elicited in response to sensory stimulation, the impact of which is mediated by central and peripheral neural mechanisms.

These stimulations then allow the Kinesiologist to interrogate the spinal, autonomic and chemical systems, immediately monitoring the human body and verifying whether the applied correction is tolerated or not by the system.
In parallel with Dr. Goodheart, another chiropractor, Dr. Thie, a colleague and close friend of Dr. Goodheart, was developing a kinesiology system perhaps more advanced and more integrated than the basic AK, the TFH (Touch For Health).
In this system the foundations of Chinese medicine and chiropractic were merged with each other: the result was a very powerful system of evaluation and correction of many bodily stresses, monitored by means of the kinesiological test.
Later, while AK was taught only to medical graduates or chiropractors, the SK (Specialized Kinesiology) based on the TFH system, by the will of Dr. Thie himself, was also disclosed to non-doctors.
At present, the AK and SK, daughters of the same mother, share most of the basic chiropractic and kinesiological techniques; however, while AK has essentially become a diagnostic and therapeutic science, SK works deeper, trying to develop human potential at all its levels, making the II - Innate Intelligence - of the human body reorganize the systemic defenses of facing a stress, as DDPalmer's Chiropractic Science proposed from its origins.

Kinesiology is a science that unifies manipulative manual medicine, acupuncture, clinical nutrition and psycho-emotional stress management and associates them with the neurology, biochemistry, biomechanics and physiology of traditional medicine, through the use organized and contextual of the "precision neuromuscular test".

The result is an amplified system of functional neurological evaluation based on the notions of neuroanatomy, physiology and biomechanics, which orchestra the tools of complementary medicine in a single operational complex.
The corrections are chosen according to the responses observed in each subject based on sensory stimulations carried out systematically, and this allows the kinesiologist to adapt the corrective process to the specific neurological status of each subject.
These stimulations can be of emotional-psychological, biochemical-nutritional, osteo-arthro-myofascial or visceral origin.
Based on the neuromuscular response, it is the person's own body that communicates to the kinesiologist what is the most suitable correction for him at that moment.
In this system of communication to feed-back with the bio-computer of the subject the preparation and experience of the Kinesiologist, interpreter and identifier of the responses to the muscle test that reflect substantial differences in neurological patterns, is fundamental.
This evaluation requires, on the part of the operator, a significant psychomotor preparation and not only tends to verify the absolute strength of a muscle, as is more typically the case in "basic orthopedics and" standard "neurological evaluation, but rather the" "information"that the person's body is trying to send, and then make the most suitable correction.
Dr Goodheart said, "Remember, the real problem is almost never where we have pain," so the kinesiologist's job is to investigate until the primary neurological block is found, and then intervene.

The Kinesiologist does not look at the pathology as in allopathic medicine, but at the pure energy of the person, removing the structural, biochemical and emotional blocks that prevent the subject's innate resources from taking over the dysfunction, and therefore from regaining health.
Kinesiology starts from the assumption that the human body, understood as a neuronal system, cannot "lie" in response to the stresses made to it, as long as these stresses are expressed in the correct form and at the correct time.

The three basic principles of kinesiology science are:

1. structure, psyche and biochemistry are mutually influential
2. Most muscle and joint disorders are to be sought not in the "hypertonia of the" agonist but in the weakness of the antagonist
3. The normotonic state of a specific muscle is related to the functionality of a specific internal organ and to the flow of energy in a specific meridian, respectively associated with that muscle.

The fields of intervention of Kinesiology Science are:

1. the structural system: subluxations of the spine, joints in general, nerve compressions, problems related to neurotransmitters
2. the lymphatic system: points that activate neurolymphatic reflexes
3. the vascular system: points that activate neurovascular reflexes
4. the craniosacral system: CSF and craniosacral kinesiological subluxations
5. the visceral system: visceral kinesiological lesions
6. the meridian system: the use of specific acupoints
7. clinical nutrition: deficiency / excess of micro / macronutrients that disrupt body homeostasis
8. the psycho-emotional system: emotional or psychological stresses that alter body homeostasis
9. the myofascial system: muscular and fascial imbalances

The articular structural kinesiological normalizations mostly concern the pelvis and pelvis, the vertebral column and the skull, with particular attention to the TMJ and the teeth.
The upper and lower limbs are also considered, but secondarily.
The structural sphere also includes neurovascular, neurolymphatic and visceral techniques.
In accordance with the original chiropractic philosophy, all kinesiological normalizations are more oriented to the neurological aspect, therefore towards the restoration of a coherent nervous impulse, than to the merely articular aspect.

The Kinesiologist evaluates and corrects imbalances through the organized and contextual use of the precision neuromuscular test.
The other two spheres, biochemistry and psychology, also make use of a myriad of different corrective techniques.
For the sportsman in particular there is a specialized "section" of kinesiology that deals with the more or less frequent stresses that involve "competitive physical activity, elite" or more simply suitable for everyone.
Starting from the principle that all bodily stress originates from a neurologically priority but occult cause, and evolves according to a DNL (Non Linear Dynamics), it is superficial for me to list the insults that can be corrected with Kinesiology; the Kinesiologist respects the triad of health, mind-soma-biochemistry, therefore many types of stress can be addressed and potentially kinesiologically correct.
In the complexity of Kinesiology Science, and consequently of the organism, we find that joint stress can originate from a deficiency of some micronutrients, or from a bone malposition, or from negative emotions, or from a meridian in hyperenergy, or from an irritated bowel , and viceversa.
Everything is the cause of everything!
This is to make it clear that there is nothing clear and defined when dealing with the human organism.
The Kinesiologist poses with neutrality and interprets the language of the body.
From glycemic disorders to adrenal stress, from "arthritis to an outbreak, from a disturbance field to insertional tendinopathy, from dysmenorrhea to dyslexia, from" herniated disc to "anorexia nervosa, from" food incompatibility to psoriasis, from depression to sore teeth, from anxiety to cachexia or allergy, just to name a few, the discourse does not change: you have to work simultaneously on the 3 aspects of the triangle, monitor the meridian system constantly, place yourself in absolute therapeutic neutrality and follow the instructions of the body.
All in a strictly physiological and never pathological context!
The Kinesiologist does not cure anything!
For the kinesiologist, the pathology is always a physiology that is too slow or too accelerated.

It is from the physiology that stress evolves, and it is always there that it must be sought and corrected.

As mentioned before, for the Kinesiologist everything is the cause of everything, a sort of organized chaos, in which stress is managed and hidden by the SN (Nervous System) of the subject, the true and dark puppeteer.
However, the work of the team remains of fundamental importance for the patient, in which the kinesiologist confronts and consults psychologists, dentists, osteopaths, physiotherapists.
At present, kinesiology, but above all research in kinesiology, is reaching levels unthinkable only twenty years ago:
some specialized branches of AK and SK, such as N.O.T. by Dr. Ferreri, the C.K. of the late Dr. Bardeall, the T.B.M. by Dr. Frank, the A.P. by Dr. Utt, F.B. by Dr. Schmitt, the Ad.K./E.A. by Dr. Verity have erased and rewritten from scratch the foundations of neurology, embryology and physiology applied to the structure.
In Italy, Kinesiology is not officially recognized by the Ministry of Health, and obviously research also suffers from it.
In North America, the United States, Great Britain, Europe and Australasia kinesiology is a university discipline and is taught in training courses ranging from 4 to 6 years full-time, or with specific training courses of shorter duration for graduates in medicine and surgery , dentistry and chiropractic.
