Wafer

Generality

The wafer or waffer is a type of wafer which - arranged in superimposed layers possibly interspersed with creams, chocolate or other ingredients - forms ornamental biscuits (flat and dry), ice cream cones and filled biscuits called biscuits wafers or fru fru.

The dough of the wafer is simple: type 00 soft wheat flour, whole eggs (or prevalence of egg white), eventually sugar, butter or margarine and yeast; what makes the wafer unique is the characteristic shape or design of the wafer (cooked through special molds), combined with the subtlety of the finished product.
