What is Zabaione?

For zabaione - or zabajone or zabaglione - we mean a typical sweet pastry food.
Recently, some savory and / or flavored variants have been proposed, which serve as an accompaniment (like a sauce) for dishes, side dishes, appetizers etc. In addition, eggnog has inspired the creation of various recipes, such as liqueurs (zabov, VoV), ice cream and parfaits.
