Magnesium carbonate and magnesium bicarbonate are compounds obtained from magnesium hydroxide, used by the food industry as acidity regulators, support for additives, anti-caking agents and raising agents.
They can be contained in various products, such as baking powder.
There are currently no known negative side effects on human health.
At high concentrations they have a laxative effect.
