Gum tragacanth is a natural polysaccharide obtained from the resin of a tree present in Asian reasons.
Used as a food additive, it is a compound with a natural thickening, emulsifying and stabilizing function.
Gum tragacanth is present as an additive in various foods, such as cake decorations, sliced cheese, etc.
There are no side effects at the doses normally used, but consumption at high concentrations causes flatulence, diarrhea and bloating (due to fermentation by the intestinal microflora), allergies and skin reactions.
