Karaya gum is a natural polysaccharide obtained from the bark of the tree Sterculia Urens, typical of India.
It is a compound with a thickening, stabilizing and emulsifying function.
It can be contained in various products, such as cereal and potato based foods, egg liqueurs, sauces.
At the concentrations normally consumed, no negative side effects are known, while at high concentrations, karaja gum can cause flatulence, bloating, diarrhea, digestive disorders, poor assimilation of minerals, respiratory allergies such as asthma (especially in sensitive individuals) and hives. .
