What's your favorite exercise or workout?
I am a "lover of the concept of cross-training. My training style combines different types of workouts to work at 360 degrees on performance, athleticism, agility, endurance, mobility and strength. In particular, my typical training consists of a Combination of multi-joint exercises and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). As for strength training, I prefer superset and triset work, while for HIIT I prefer circuit style training and explosive movements. My favorite exercise? The plyo push-ups, if I think that when I started I could not do even 1 push-up on the knees, now being able to do them in an explosive way gives me a lot of energy!
What advice do you give to those who start training?
I recommend that you listen to your body and step by step establish a total connection between mind and muscles. Initially, I would suggest the implementation of full body workouts, that is a workout in which we exercise all the muscles at least once during the session, in order to build a muscle base, effectively stimulate the technical learning of the form necessary to perform the exercises correctly. , both in terms of balance and coordination of motor and neuromuscular activation schemes.
What are the benefits that this type of training can give?
Full body training is one of the most complete workout techniques that can be practiced both in the gym and at home. The main benefits of this type of training concern muscle strengthening and improvement of the efficiency of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Based on the "intensity of" training and your current motor level, you will be able to obtain results focused on the overall improvement of general physical fitness and psycho-physical well-being.
How is it best to organize workouts over a week in your opinion?
For those who are beginners or are starting to train after periods of inactivity, I suggest training 3 times a week, in order to guarantee the body enough time to recover between sessions to promote muscle growth which, as mentioned above, occurs mainly in the rest periods. In order to guarantee ever new and greater stimuli for our muscles, another important aspect is to work following the principle of progressive overload, increasing the training variables from protocol to protocol. Personally, for us women, I find the PHA circuit training optimal which leads to an increase in muscle trophism, strength and endurance.
What's your secret wellness tip?
I don't think there are any secrets or shortcuts in the search for physical and mental well-being, and I firmly fight on some principles, with which in my opinion, this growth path should be addressed. I am of the idea that your self-esteem, discipline and constancy should not depend on the weight indicated on a scale, false standards imposed by social media or other people's opinions on how you should look. You have to take care of your body with care and attention. I always say to my clients that training must be for them an outlet, a pastime and a pleasant addition to their daily life and never a duty or an obligation. And that food is not the enemy, it is our source of energy. Following a healthy and balanced diet does not mean living on restrictions and sacrifices. My goal as a trainer is to help women establish a balanced relationship with sport, loving each other more every day.
