Ingrediants
For about 15 chips
- 200 g of apples
- Q.b. cinnamon
Materials Needed
- Mandolin or knife
- Levatorsoli
- Sieve
- Microwave
Preparation
- Carefully wash an apple (eg Golden or Pink Lady), detach the stem and remove the core using the appropriate tool: in this way, you will obtain a pierced apple.
- Cut the apple into very thin slices, taking care to keep the hole (obtained by removing the core) in the center of each section. For best results, the use of the mandolin is recommended.
- Arrange the apple slices on the microwave turntable, avoiding overlapping.
- Cook the apple slices for 5 minutes at 800-850W, turning them from time to time. Lower the power to 450W and cook for another minute. Turn the apple slices again and cook at 300-350W for another 5 minutes, or until the chips have a solid consistency and a dehydrated appearance.
Attention!
To obtain crunchy apple chips and guarantee uniform cooking, it is advisable to cut the fruit into very thin and regular slices.
The exact cooking time depends on the type of apple, the thickness of the slices and the power of your microwave.
It is recommended to check the cooking level of the chips very often and turn them over several times to avoid burning them.- Allow the apple chips to cool: cooling will help consolidate the structure of the chips and make them crunchy.
- Sprinkle the apple chips with spices to taste (eg cinnamon or cocoa), or eat them plain.
- The apple chips can be kept for 4-5 days, out of the fridge, away from humidity.
