Performing the step over lunges with dumbbell (modified):
- Stand upright in front of a bench or step with your feet shoulder-width apart
- Grab the dumbbells and keep them still at your sides
- Step forward up and step onto the bench or step with your right foot, while your left foot remains on the ground
- Push your right foot as hard as you can on the step and straighten your leg, take your left foot off the floor and push your body up while bringing your left leg straight back upwards; stay a few seconds and return to the ground with your left foot
- Reverse the movement.
- Arch your back while pushing the back leg up
- Overcoming the tip of the foot with the knee in support during the ascent phase on the bench or on the step.
