To calculate how many calories are actually consumed during the day it is necessary, first of all, to calculate the own basal metabolic rate. Below, for the sake of simplicity, we report a somewhat less precise but decidedly more immediate method.

- For moderately active people: weight (kg) x 38
- For active people: weight (kg) x 44
Legend:
- Moderately active: at least three or four aerobic training sessions per week (at least 40 minutes each);
- Active: at least five aerobic training sessions.
