Generality
Valgus is the orthopedic term that includes all those deformities of the limbs, in which, due to an anomalous relationship between two adjacent skeletal segments, the more distal of these two presents a lateral deviation, that is, it tends to move away in an atypical way from the sagittal plane.
There are various types of valgus; the most common types include: knee valgus, hallux valgus, coxa valgus and cubitus valgus.
