Home fitness, which can be translated as "physical activity from / at home", is not just a method of economizing the sport, but a real approach.
ShutterstockHome fitness differs from the traditional system of physical activity, that is, the one that involves going to specialized centers, apparently only for purely logistical and economic reasons. However, for many it is a real method or system that has numerous advantages - for example the "very high personalization, specificity, variability, etc. - but also some disadvantages - such as the lack of company, less motivation, the need for large spaces and the possibility of causing noise, etc."
they are becoming more and more numerous; an example are the so-called VIPs, who have to resort to home fitness in order to regain a certain level of privacy. To tell the truth, the reasons that can positively influence such a choice are numerous; for example:
- As anticipated, the need for privacy
- Shame or difficulty staying in a group
- Logistical problems, such as being too far from the first available fitness center
- Temporal inconveniences, such as lack of free time during the day or week
- Economic difficulties, since the amortization of each machine or tool, at the end of its "full efficiency", is undoubtedly advantageous compared to the cost of a subscription
- Special needs, such as some handicapped people
- Special needs, such as having a dedicated personal trainer, in the absence of distractions etc.
To practice home fitness you don't need much, both in terms of space and in terms of economic resources, even if this depends on the type of training in question. It is important to have clear ideas about the kind of activity to be carried out and to know that in any case you can never match the variety of services and equipment, as well as the suitability of the premises of a fitness center. To give a trivial example, it would be impossible - for most people - swimming in home fitness. Likewise, it would be out of place to practice power lifting, weight lifting or Olympic weight lifting in a second floor apartment in an apartment building. The essential requirements and availabilities for practicing home fitness concern:
- Place: we have already said, not all homes allow you to practice noisy home fitness. Sometimes the sound insulation between the apartments is so low that it can become a problem even to play the banal exercise bike
- Local: it must be adequate and possibly comfortable. To lift two dumbbells or perform crunches, less than 5 square meters, a little more than a closet, is enough. It is different if you want to jump rope. Even more space is needed to install a machine multifunction
- Equipment and material: by material we mean everything that is surrounding, for example the cushioned flooring, any acoustic insulation of the walls, etc. By equipment, on the other hand, we mean the tools of the trade: dumbbells, barbells, discs, fitness machines ( stepper, elliptical, treadmill, etc.), multifunctional benches, backrest, traction bar, etc.
- Any personal training service, or in any case a guide to get started
- Economic resources weighted and proportional to the initial investment; it is also possible to buy as progress increases.
The choice of services is also important. The constant presence of a personal trainer or his periodic advice, or the use of a manual or a reliable website allow you to carry out your training in total autonomy.
