E473 SUCROSE ESTERS OF FATTY ACIDS
Saccharose esters of fatty acids are compounds obtained from a glycide and natural fatty acids (which are mainly of vegetable origin, but those of animal origin could also be used).
The compounds obtained have a composition similar to natural fat partially digested and esterified with sugars.
Mainly, these additives have an emulsifying, stabilizing, supporting function of synthetic dyes and antioxidant; participate in the treatment of flour.
Saccharose esters of fatty acids can be contained in various products such as baked goods.
At the moment there are no known negative side effects for human health as the body metabolizes all components just like sugar and natural fats.
The only risk is that it may contain small concentrations of extraction solvents.
ADI dose: 16-20 mg per kg of body weight.
