E352 CALCIUM SICK
Calcium malate is the calcium salt of malic acid (E296). It is used as a thickener and as a flavoring agent. It can be contained in ice cream, fried products, jam etc.

For the moment, there is no maximum consumption dose, but the use of some of its isomers (D, L- and D-isomers) is not allowed in baby food (due to the absence of the enzymes necessary to metabolize these substances ).
There are currently no known negative side effects inherent in the use of calcium malate as a food additive.
