E131 - BLEAU PATENTATO V (C.I. 42051)
Patented Bleau V is a blue color, synthetic type, used in many products, such as candies, syrups, liqueurs, drinks, icings, ice creams and popsicles. Currently, little data is available on the effects it has on human health. Cases of lowering of blood pressure and episodes of tremor have been reported. In allergic people, bleau patentatoV can cause skin sensitization, hives, itching, nausea and insomnia. It could be carcinogenic; currently prohibited in Australia.
ADI DOSE: 15 mg per kg of body weight.
