If you want to hit the mark and leave your guests amazed, I suggest today a recipe of my invention, always impressive and very easy to prepare: the smoked potato and salmon pie.
After having cut into thin slices and boiled the potatoes for a few minutes, they will be arranged in layers and alternated with salmon and cheese. Let's cook it together.

Ingrediants
- About 800 g (4-5 medium) of potatoes
- 150 g of smoked salmon
- 200 g of Fontina cheese
- 1 handful (about 10 g) of breadcrumbs
- 1 sprig of parsley
Materials Needed
- 1 potato peeler
- 1 sharp knife or a mandolin (vegetable slicer)
- 1 cutting board for food
- 1 pot for boiling potatoes
- 1 ovenproof dish or a springform pan
- 1 cheese mixer
- 1 skimmer
Preparation
- First, boil some salted water, which will be used for blanching the potatoes.
- Peel the well washed potatoes with a vegetable peeler or knife.
- With the vegetable slicer (mandolin), cut the potatoes trying to obtain many discs of equal thickness (3-4 mm).
- Gently pour the potato discs into boiling water and cook for just 3 minutes.
Why cook potatoes for such a short time?
In this way, the subsequent baking in the oven is speeded up: in just 3 minutes, the potatoes do not overcook and at the same time do not stay raw. In doing so, it will be sufficient to finish cooking by placing the pan in the oven for a few minutes.- After 3 minutes from the moment of boiling, drain the potato slices with the help of a skimmer, being careful not to break them. Allow the potatoes to cool.
- Meanwhile, cut the smoked salmon into irregular slices and grate the stretched curd cheese with the help of a blender.
- In a not too large baking dish (it is advisable to use a hinged pan with a diameter of 24 cm) arrange the potato slices in layers, which in the meantime have cooled slightly. Alternate the potato slices with a few pieces of salmon, a handful of stretched curd cheese and chopped parsley.
- Proceed like this as if it were a mess. Finish with a sprinkling of cheese and breadcrumbs to form an inviting golden crust on the pie.
- Bake at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.

To prevent the surface of the pie from burning excessively, it is advisable to cover the pan with a sheet of aluminum foil before baking, and to remove it after at least 10 minutes of cooking.- Serve hot.
