The lineout is used when the ball crosses the sideline of the pitch with its entire circumference.
The ball must be thrown with the hands (both at the same time) not beyond the limit of the center of one's head, with both feet on the ground and out of the line of the court.
In the run-in lineout, the ball is thrown even further. In this case we must be careful not to take our feet off the ground, which can happen more easily in the event of a run-up.
Some tips to make the lineout correctly:
do not use one arm more vigorously than the other;
do not lift one or both feet off the ground;
do not drop the ball in front of you;
be facing the playing field;
do not place one or both feet on the sideline (or inside the playing court).
Common mistakes about the throw-in technique:
support the ball with your hands from the sides;
keep wrists locked when throwing the ball;
not arching the body back sufficiently;
movements not coordinated with each other.
Exercises
it is necessary to work on the distance and precision of the relaunch: coordinate the various components of the movement, measuring the strength of all the muscle groups. To be precise, we must practice evaluating the distance of the partner and the time of movement.
