Occipital lobe: What is it? Anatomy, Function and Dysfunction

Protected by the occipital bone, the occipital lobe is located posterior to the parietal lobe and temporal lobe, and superior to the tentorium of the cerebellum and the cerebellum.
The occipital lobe hosts two important functional areas of the cerebral cortex: the primary visual area and the secondary visual area; as their name suggests, these functional areas are involved in sight.
