Example of anastomosis, the Willis polygon results from the participation of the internal carotid arteries, the arteries of the vertebro-basilar system (ie the vertebral arteries and the basilar artery), the anterior cerebral arteries, the anterior communicating artery, the posterior communicating arteries and of the posterior cerebral arteries.
