Generality
Gastroparesis is a chronic medical condition, which consists of partial paralysis of the stomach.
Damage to the vagus nerve usually determines the state of gastroparesis. This nervous structure, in fact, plays a fundamental role in regulating the passage of food from the stomach to the intestine.
Typical symptoms of gastroparesis are: nausea, vomiting, immediate satiety and loss of appetite.
Unfortunately, at the present time, patients can only count on symptomatic therapy, as there is no specific treatment.
