Iron carbonate is an additive used as an acidity regulator, but it is mainly used to enrich food with iron.
Therefore, due to its function, it can be contained in fortified (vitaminized) foods and pharmaceutical preparations, as well as in other products.
There are currently no known negative side effects on human health.
At high concentrations it has a laxative effect.
