E476 POLYCLYCEROL POLYRICINOLEATE
Polyglycerol polyricinoleate is a combination of polyglycerol and castor oil (oil obtained from the Ricinus sp. Plant).
Fats can be of either vegetable or animal origin.
These food additives are used, in various products, above all for their emulsifying and stabilizing function.
They can be contained in various foods, such as bakery products, various chocolate snacks, low-calorie foods, chocolate, spreads, etc.
There may be a risk, in predisposed subjects, of the onset of allergies, but still there are contradictory opinions on this matter.
At the moment there are no known negative side effects for human health deriving from the consumption of food products added with polyglycerol polyricinoleate.
ADI dose: 7.5 mg per kg of body weight.
