Girls, are you with me in the fight against cellulite? After having lunch with the anti-cellulite risotto based on rocket, centella and pink grapefruit, and delighted the palate with the anti-cellulite aspic with blueberry and centella, today I propose an ice cream with the same “therapeutic-like” action.
I am very satisfied with this result because by playing a little with the properties of the plants and with the ingredients I have obtained a very good, extremely pleasant and, above all, functional ice cream.
But what are the ingredients used to prepare this ice cream?
- Gotu kola (Asian Hydrocotyle, Fam Apiaceae): medicinal plant whose therapeutic action concerns in particular the blood circulation. In fact, its active ingredients stimulate microcirculation, strengthening the wall of blood capillaries and reducing their permeability.
- Red grapevine (Vitis vinifera, Fam. Vitaceae): a plant with strong antioxidant, anti-edema (prevents the permeability of capillaries from increasing excessively) and protective properties of the microcirculation. It is rich in resveratrol (polyphenol with antioxidant virtues and with possible anticancer action) and bioflavonoids.
- Green tea (Camellia sinensis, Fam. Theaceae): known for its precious content in antioxidant active ingredients (catechins). Moreover, green tea is also praised for other important virtues: slimming properties (thanks to methylxanthines, capable of stimulating lipolysis), diuretic and anorectic.
- Blackberry (Vaccinium myrtillus, Fam. Ericaceae), praised for its astringent, vasoprotective, anti-edema and anti-inflammatory properties.

Preparation
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Turn off the heat and infuse 5 g of gotu kola (flowering tops), 5 g of red vine (leaves) and 5 g of green tea (leaves).
- Leave to infuse for 20 minutes: in this way you will obtain a therapeutic infusion.
Please note
Herbal preparations such as infusions do not allow to establish the exact amount of active molecules administered. Even though it is a drink with appreciable virtues, we cannot therefore believe that this mix of substances can produce miraculous effects. When you want to use these drugs (intended as medicinal plants) for therapeutic purposes, it is good to contact a competent medical figure to resort to pharmaceutical forms defined and standardized in active ingredients.- After 20 minutes, filter the mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Heat everything again until it reaches 45 ° C: disperse the Aglumix® powder under strong stirring. Also add the lemon juice, sugar, fructose and dextrose. Allow to cool, first at room temperature, then in the refrigerator.
What to know
Aglumix® is a powder composed of mono and glycerides of fatty acids, guar gum and carob seed gum. Added to the mixture, it gives the ice cream a "warmer" sensation in the mouth and less icy.
Dextrose is a sweetening agent widely used in ice cream due to its extraordinary anti-freezing power: by lowering the freezing point of the water contained in the mixture, it will be possible to obtain a very creamy and spatulable ice cream.- At this point, add the yogurt (it is advisable to choose an unsweetened whole yogurt) and the cranberry juice.
- Stir the mixture and pour into the ice cream maker. Whisk everything for 30-50 minutes, depending on the type of ice cream maker you have.
- Place the ice cream in the freezer for 20 minutes before tasting it.
- Serve in accompaniment with blueberries or other red fruits.
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
Of course, anti-cellulite ice cream alone cannot work miracles; on the other hand, not even leg creams and any supplements alone are able to defeat the much hated cellulite. It is certain, however, that by acting on several fronts, therefore with physical exercise and a particular diet ( a little salt, a few sugars and specific recipes like the ones I have proposed), we will still be able to obtain some satisfactory results.Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
Anti-cellulite ice cream is an absolutely low-calorie spoon dessert, rich in antioxidants and useful substances for strengthening the capillary wall and draining extracellular liquids.
