- After mixing the egg whites and almonds, slowly add the sliced almonds a little at a time: the result is a very homogeneous and rather compact mixture.

- When the oven has reached the temperature, bake the sweets for 10 minutes, until their surface is slightly golden.
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
Although not very elegant, the “ugly but good” sweets are always appreciated for their sweetness and extraordinary crispness. They are made only with egg whites (NOT with yolks!), Almonds and sugar: ideal for breakfast or for a delicious afternoon snack.Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
The ugly but good are biscuits with a good content of "good" fats and high biological value proteins. However, the consumption portion "should not" exceed 30-35g at a time, since the energy portion is abundantly supported by a fair amount of simple carbohydrates, or better, sucrose. The intake of fiber is insignificant but not as much as that of cholesterol, which is reduced to an absolute 0 and making these sweets (more than others) granted even in the presence of hypercholesterolemia.
