Given the success of my previous "water cake" recipe, I decided to offer you an alternative version: a very fast and variegated wholemeal donut with chocolate. This dessert is perfect to prepare when you have little time available and very few ingredients in the pantry Bring water, wholemeal flour, cocoa and cane sugar!

- 1 pinch of baking soda
- 5 g of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 50 ml of corn oil
- 150 + 50 ml of water
- 90 g of brown sugar
- 120 g of frumina
- 30 g of bitter cocoa

Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 160 ° C (ventilated).
- In a bowl, collect the wholemeal flour and wheat starch. Add the brown sugar, salt and yeast together with a pinch of baking soda.

As an alternative to wheat starch, it is possible to use corn starch or rice starch. This donut can also be prepared with other types of flour (eg spelled).
Baking soda, along with baking powder, is useful for making sweets softer.- In the center, add 150 ml of water, the seed oil and flavor with an aroma as desired (eg rum, vanilla or almond vial).
- Pour half the mixture into another bowl, then add the sifted bitter cocoa and mix with another 50 ml of water.
- Pour the two mixtures into a donut mold with a diameter of 20 cm, taking care to alternate the white one with the cocoa one to obtain a marbled effect.
The alternative idea
Those who wish can prepare the same dough to make muffins: in this case, it is advisable to pour the mixture into the appropriate cups, alternating the cocoa part with the neutral dough.- Bake the marbled donut at 160 ° C for about 30-35 minutes: it is advisable to perform the toothpick test before removing the cake from the oven.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool and serve with jam as desired.
