Chocolate is an extraordinary food that knows no seasons: in summer or winter, chocolaty desserts are always the most popular (or at least in my house!). So I propose the sweet salami, in which chocolate is king. But with this recipe I want to make vegans happy too (but not only), because I would like to prepare a sweet salami without milk, without butter and without eggs! I am sure that with this recipe I will make everyone's mouth water: let's see how the chocolate salami is prepared in the vegan version.

- 10 ml of corn oil
- 25 ml of soy milk
- 25 g of coconut flour
- 25 g of yellow cornmeal
For the chocolate salami
- 140 g of dark chocolate
- 50 g of hazelnuts

- (Optional) Whole food, organic: 30 g of cane sugar
Materials Needed
- Bowl
- Scale weighs food
- Baking plate
- Wooden spoon
- Rolling pin
- Plastic bag
- Mixer
Preparation
- Prepare the biscuit base: in a bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, the corn flour, a pinch of salt, the whole cane sugar and the coconut flour (or ground almonds) with the liquids (seed oil and vegetable milk ). Mix the ingredients until you get a sandy consistency, reminiscent of that of the crumble. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
- Spread the crumb mixture on a plate lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180 ° C for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
The alternative version
Vegan chocolate salami can be prepared using ready-made vegan biscuits (eg vegan oatmeal biscuits).- Chop the dark chocolate and combine it in a bowl with the brown sugar (optional) and the homemade margarine. Melt the mixture in a double boiler or in the microwave, until you get a cream.
Alternative to margarine
In this recipe we suggest the use of homemade margarine. Alternatively, you can replace it with the same amount of seed oil or coconut butter.- Gather the biscuit base in a bag and reduce it into coarse crumbs with the help of a rolling pin.
- Combine the hazelnuts in the blender and chop them until you get a powder.
- Combine the cookie crumbs in the bowl of chocolate. Combine the hazelnut powder and mix everything with your hands, adding the vegetable milk: you will have to obtain a rather compact dough, but not yet workable.
- Put the dough in the fridge for one hour: in this way, the mixture will thicken.
- Remove the dough from the bowl and knead it with your hands until you get the shape of a sausage.
- Put the salami back in the fridge and let it harden for an hour.
- Roll the salami as you like in the hazelnut powder (or in the chopped pistachios).
- Cut the chocolate salami into slices and serve.
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
For a classic version, serve the sliced chocolate salami, but if you prefer an alternative and more practical version, I recommend making balls with this dough, and then rolling them on bitter cocoa to get delicious truffles! Good, healthy, vegan!Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
