Ewing's sarcoma

Generality

Ewing's sarcoma is a particular malignant bone tumor, which has not yet been attributed a precise cause of onset. It usually affects the femur, tibia or humerus and, if not diagnosed in time, can cause formation of lung metastases.

A patient with Ewing's sarcoma experiences persistent and progressive pain in the affected bone; sometimes, the painful sensation is accompanied by swelling, burning, high fever, and weight loss.
Only with an accurate diagnosis, it is possible to establish the most adequate treatment; treatment consisting of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.
