Generality
Pulmonary hypertension is a pathological condition in which the blood pressure inside the pulmonary arteries, and in the right cavities of the heart, is elevated.

Very often, this serious condition is linked to a deterioration of the wall that constitutes the pulmonary arteries (or their branches): as a result of this alteration, in fact, the same arteries narrow and the flow of blood inside them is reduced.
The main symptoms of pulmonary hypertension consist of dyspnoea, chest pain, fainting and tachycardia.
To correctly diagnose this condition, various diagnostic tests are needed, also necessary to trace the triggering causes.
Therapy can be pharmacological or, if drugs have poor results, surgical.
