The final hardness of Kangen water is mainly linked to the composition of the fluid entering and coming from the tap.
On the contrary, any type of water processed by the ionizer acquires a basic or neutral pH; the "waste" water is acidic.
The ionizer can allow you to choose the final pH of the basic water (neutral, slightly basic, very basic, etc.); not all types of Kangen water are suitable for feeding (see below Other Uses of Kangen Water).
For further information: Alkaline water: Is it healthier? .
It is hypothesized that, in the body, moderately alkaline Kangen water can:
- Promote acid-base balance by alkalizing the blood and urine.
- Exercise an antioxidant power against free radicals.
- Promote greater hydration.
- Buffer the acidity imposed by the intense motor exercise.
- Reduce the amount of toxins taken with water.
- Act positively on the intestinal bacterial flora.
- Reduce the damage caused by the end products of advanced glycosylation (complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus).
Fortunately, the pH balance in the healthy, eunnourished body is not easily compromised. The studies carried out in this regard disprove the theory of the acid-base diet and the alkaline Kangen water with it.
It is also difficult to believe that Kangen water can enter the circulation and act as an antioxidant like vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium, or polyphenols. There are systems for measuring oxidative stress and it would be useful to carry out tests to verify the veracity of this statement.
It is not clear why alkaline Kangen water should boast a higher than normal hydration potential; to understand if it is a "hoax" it is sufficient to compare two bioimpedance measurements (BIA), one with a normal diet and one after replacing normal water with Kangen water for 7 days (food and physical activity must be the same).
The elimination of pollutants through the Kangen system seems limited only to certain toxins. Since there are various types of unwanted molecules with different chemical-physical characteristics, it is logical to deduce that some compounds are not eliminated as easily. On the contrary, they could increase.
Assuming that the redox potential can affect the intestinal bacterial flora, it is difficult to believe that this selection favors physiological microorganisms to the detriment of pathological ones. In fact, virulence and pathogenicity are aspects almost always related to the species and sometimes vary according to subjectivity. It would be very fortunate that Kangen water eliminates the very ones that are risky for man.
In some studies carried out on rats with high levels of end products of advanced glycosylation and fed with alkaline water, a hepatoprotective effect was observed; the studies have not been re-proposed on man.
Kangen water is the most reasonable choice in sports nutrition. Assuming it has a buffering effect, this drink could effectively replace bicarbonate supplements. However, it is not in itself capable of replacing hydro-saline dietary supplements. On the contrary, if enriched in potassium and magnesium (possibly also in glucose to give it isotonicity) it would represent a more than desirable alternative.
The consumption of Kangen water is allowed to healthy subjects, with perfectly functioning kidneys and who do not follow drug therapies intended for urinary regulation.
better than traditional water. The manufacturers of the ionizer claim that it does not require the addition of detergents. Before adding any cleaning product it is good to keep in mind that different chemical reactions from normal may occur.Strong Kangen water can also be used for washing fruit and vegetables before raw consumption (some also use it on meat). Sometimes it is necessary to guarantee a higher level of hygiene, for example during pregnancy. "water of sodium hypochlorite in a ratio of about 1:10; Kangen water seems able to replace this solution."
Strong Kangen water also boasts a certain stain removal power but is used above all in soaking for fabrics before washing or as a polishing agent for cutlery; does not stain the dishes.
Acidic Kangen water, on the other hand, with a pH of 5.5 lends itself to the removal of feminine make-up and cleansing washes against acne.
