Herbal tea 1 against diabetes
- Walnuts, Juglans regia (leaves) 50g;
- Bean pods, Phaseolus vulgaris (pods) 50g.
A decoction is prepared with these two drugs by letting it boil for 20 minutes: once filtered, it can be drunk in 3-5 cups throughout the day.
In this decoction, bean pods and walnut leaves were used: the bean is used as a mild hypoglycemic agent due to the presence of chromium, which acts in the regulation of blood glucose, and of fibers, which reduce intestinal absorption of glucose; the leaves of the walnut have a fair hypoglycemic activity, especially useful in cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and due to the presence
Herbal tea 2 against diabetes
- Blueberry, Vaccinium myrtillus (leaves) 30g;
- Walnuts, Juglans regia (leaves) 30g;
- Galega, Galega officinalis (seeds) 30g;
- Fennel, Foeniculum valgare (fruit or seeds) 10g.
Prepare an infusion and, once filtered (if necessary), drink a cup 3 times a day. Blueberry is introduced in the formulation for its antioxidant and vasoprotective activity, very important in the prevention of vascular damage associated with diabetic pathology; galega is used for its hypoglycemic activity due to the active principle galegina, a guanidine derivative; fennel is not added for antidiabetic purposes, but being rich in essential oil it gives the preparation a pleasant taste, as well as exhibiting a mild antispathic action on the intestinal muscles. There are no particular contraindications in the use of this herbal tea, it is only necessary to be careful in cases of ascertained hypersensitivity to one or more components of the formulation. Attention also to the concomitant use of oral antidiabetic drugs (potentiating effects).

- Nettle, Urtica dioica (leaves) 50g.
Prepare an infusion and drink a cup of it 3 times a day.
Blueberry is used for its antioxidant and vasoprotective activity, while nettle is a plant which, in addition to its well-known diuretic activity, in some studies has shown a good hypoglycemic capacity (it is assumed for the presence of trace elements and antioxidants). Beware of concomitant use of oral antidiabetic drugs (potentiating effects).
