Currently (June 2021), rotigotine is available in a single medicinal product - with the trade name Neupro® - in the form of transdermal patches that may contain different concentrations of the active ingredient. Rotigotine medicines would require repeatable prescription (RR) to be sold; however, as they are classified as class A drugs, their cost can be reimbursed by the National Health Service (SSN).

- Restless Legs Syndrome;
- Parkinson's disease, both alone - in monotherapy - and in combination with levodopa.
Note: according to the dose of active ingredient contained in the transdermal patch, the therapeutic indications may vary (for example, some medicines are indicated only for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and others for the treatment of restless legs syndrome only). , eye ailments or diseases, etc.Furthermore, it is very important to know that, during treatment with rotigotine it is necessary to carry out regular checks:
- Blood pressure (since rotigotine can alter it, especially at the beginning of treatment);
- Of the eyes and sight;
- Liver (if you develop or already have liver problems that get worse during the use of rotigotine, your doctor should be informed immediately).
We also remind you that during the use of transdermal patches based on rotigotine, skin problems may arise due to the application of the patch.
In case you notice worsening of your symptoms of restless legs syndrome, before or during treatment with rotigotine, you should notify your doctor right away as your treatment may need to be adjusted.
