Generality
Trochanteric bursitis is an inflammatory disease that affects one or more synovial bursae of the proximal femoral epiphysis. It has mainly mechanical causes (functional or traumatic) and causes pain in the affected area, also in association with swelling and redness.
To prevent it from worsening or becoming chronic, it is important to contact your doctor, who will prescribe drug therapy and physiotherapy; surgery is almost never necessary. The prognosis is usually a few weeks, but the response is individual.
The prevention of relapses mainly consists in the eventual compensation of functional defects.
