E482 STEAROIL-2-CALCIUM LACTYLATE
Calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate is a food additive of natural origin, deriving from a combination of calcium, stearic acid and lactic acid.
The origin of stearic acid can be either vegetable or animal, although that of vegetable origin is almost always used.
These additives are used, in the various products, for the emulsifying and stabilizing function. They can be contained mainly in bakery products (toast, soft rolls).
At the moment there are no known negative side effects on humans deriving from the consumption of food products supplemented with calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate.
