Performing the Fitball chop (wood cutter) in upper abs:
- Stand upright, keep your heels slightly more open than your hips, your legs slightly flexed, your buttocks contracted
- Place your hands on the sides of the fitball, squeeze it and bring it high above your head
- Contract your abdominal muscles, twist your torso and bring the fitball down to your left side (imagine making a slash strike as you bring the fitball down to your left side)
- Contract your glutes and return with your arms and fitball up
- Reverse the movement towards your left side and repeat
- Arch your back
- Sharply twist the torso.
