Why is Tachipirina flashtab used? What is it for?
This medicine is an analgesic and an antipyretic. Contains paracetamol.
It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of fever and / or mild to moderate pain, such as headache, flu syndromes, toothache, muscle contractures or other painful manifestations.
This medicine is for CHILDREN weighing between 7 and 25 kg (approximately 6 months to 10 years). See section 3. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after three days.
Contraindications When Tachipirina flashtab should not be used
Do not take TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- if you have severe liver disease
- if you have phenylketonuria (hereditary disease detected at the time of birth), as this medicine contains aspartame.
Precautions for use What you need to know before taking Tachipirina flashtab
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg
- if it weighs less than 50 kg
- if you suffer from liver disease
- if you have chronic alcoholism
- if you have chronic malnutrition
- if you suffer from dehydration
- if you suffer from severe kidney failure.
This medicine contains paracetamol. To avoid the risk of overdose during treatment with this medicine, do not take any other medicines that contain paracetamol.
The total dose of paracetamol should not exceed 80 mg / kg per day for children weighing less than 37 kg and 3 g per day for adults or children weighing more than 38 kg. See section: If you take more TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg than you should.
Interactions Which drugs or foods can modify the effect of Tachipirina flashtab
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Always tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines before taking TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg:
- probenecid (used to treat gout)
- salicylamide (used as an antipyretic)
- enzyme stimulators, such as carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidone (used as an antiepileptic), rifampicin (antibacterial), St. John's wort or St. John's wort (herbal medicine used in the treatment of mild to moderate depression), etc.
- metoclopramide and domperidone (used in the treatment and prevention of nausea and vomiting)
- cholestyramine (used to treat high levels of lipids (fats) in the blood)
- anticoagulants, such as warfarin (used to prevent blood clotting)
Warnings It is important to know that:
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
During pregnancy, paracetamol should not be taken for long periods, in high doses or in combination with other medicines.
Therapeutic doses of paracetamol can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg contains 15 mg of aspartame (E951), a source of phenylalanine, and may therefore be harmful to patients with phenylketonuria.
Lab test
If you need to have blood tests to check your glucose or uric acid level, be sure to tell your doctor that you are taking TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg.
Dose, Method and Time of Administration How to use Tachipirina flashtab: Posology
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
This formulation is reserved for children weighing between 7 and 25 kg (approximately from 6 months to 10 years).
For children less than 6 years old, the tablets must be dissolved in a tablespoon of water or milk (there is a risk that they will taste bitter when taken with fruit juices) before being given to them.
For children over 6 years old, the tablets can be sucked - they dissolve very quickly in the mouth on contact with saliva.
Dosage:
In children it is essential to respect the posology defined on the basis of body weight and then choose the appropriate formulation. Approximate ages as a function of body weight are given for information only.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60 mg / kg / day, in 4 or 6 daily doses, i.e. about 15mg / kg every 6 hours or 10mg / kg every 4 hours.
- In children weighing between 7 and 10 kg: (approximately between 6 and 18 months), the dosage is 1 tablet at a time, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 tablets per day.
- In children weighing between 11 and 12 kg: (approximately between 18 and 24 months), the dosage is 1 tablet at a time, to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours, without exceeding 6 tablets per day.
- In children weighing between 13 and 20 kg: (approximately between 2 and 7 years), the dosage is 2 tablets at a time, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 8 tablets per day.
- In children weighing between 21 and 25 kg: (approximately between 6 and 10 years), the dosage is 2 tablets at a time, to be repeated if necessary after 4 hours, without exceeding 12 tablets per day.
For patients with severe renal insufficiency, the interval between the two doses should be at least 8 hours.
If you have the impression that the effect of TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Follow the dosage instructions to avoid pain or a recurrence of fever. In children, administration should be performed at regular intervals, including at night, preferably at 6-hour intervals, otherwise at intervals of not less than 4 hours.
A doctor should be consulted if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days.
If you forget to take TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.

Overdose What to do if you have taken too much Tachipirina flashtab
If you take more TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg than you should
Stop treatment immediately and contact your doctor immediately.
Symptoms of overdose usually appear within the first 24 hours and include: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pale skin (extreme pale skin) and abdominal pain.
Immediately notify the doctor in case of accidental intake of an excessive dose of the medicine even if the patient shows no worrying signs, as there is a risk of delayed presentation of serious and irreversible liver damage.
Side Effects What are the side effects of Tachipirina flashtab
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects are:
Rare side effects (less than 1 in 1,000 but more than 1 in 10,000 patients taking this medicine):
Increase in the level of liver enzymes (transaminases).
Very rare side effects (in less than 1 in 10,000 patients taking this medicine):
Allergic reactions with skin manifestations (rash or rash with itchy blisters, swelling of the face or tongue), shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing which may be a severe allergic reaction.
If a severe allergic reaction occurs, stop taking Tachypirin FLASHTAB 125 mg and consult your doctor immediately.
Sporadic reports:
Blood disorders: decrease in the number of platelets in the blood resulting in bleeding from the nose or gums and decrease in the number of white blood cells in the blood resulting in increased susceptibility to infections.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
Expiry and Retention
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the blister and carton after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Do not use this medicine if you notice visible signs of deterioration.
Do not throw any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.

What TACHIPIRIN FLASHTAB 125 mg contains
The active ingredient is: paracetamol. Each tablet contains 125 mg of paracetamol (as coated paracetamol crystals).
The other ingredients are: Basic butylated methacrylate copolymer, 30% polyacrylate dispersion, silica (hydrophobic colloidal), mannitol (granules, powder), crospovidone, aspartame (E951), banana flavor, magnesium stearate.

Tachipirina Flashtab are white, round, bi-convex, dispersible tablets with central concavity and characteristic banana flavor.
