The choice of time depends on the lift zone (zone 1, 2 or 3) and on the height of the dish. The third time is the most difficult dunk because the wall is placed, the defense is ready and every time I have to look for a time. different.
The arm that does not attack must balance the movement, that is, rise and remain in a position that is neither high nor low, but forward. This same arm, to create the greatest possible extension, therefore the greatest speed of blow, begins the descent movement in advance of the attacking one: it must not descend to the side, but fall "naturally".
The attacking arm, on the other hand, either continues the movement to the side, up to the back, or stops in front of the body.
The ball must be hit:
- high, with an open hand
- front
- on the right (for a right), so as to be in balance during the flight phase.
During the closing phase, the left arm lowers the elbow and the forearm, closing in the center of the body. The right arm (after the blow) reaches the left arm by crossing, or passing close to your side.
The resort
The preparatory phase is the one in which you move when the ball goes towards the setter. This movement must be as fast as possible, as it must allow you to be in the most suitable point of the field, before starting the run-up.
The pace of the run goes from slow to fast and the last step must be a leap (longer and faster step).
In the more advanced game, it is not always possible to correctly angle the run-up; thus it becomes of fundamental importance that the athlete orientates the support of the feet in the final phase, in order to favor the right position of the torso and the opening of the shoulder.
During the first phase of the run up the arms are moved as when walking. During the last step, the arms must swing back as far as possible (the more we jump the more we jump; sometimes, the less balance in flight is due to a lack of momentum). At the moment of the take-off, both arms help by pushing quickly from behind to forward - high.
During the aerial phase, the arms prepare for the attack blow and execute it. The attacking hand always remains in line with the forearm (it must not be moved backwards or held soft). The blow must be made with the hand hollow, to give, with the closing of the wrist, a rotating effect to the ball.The movement of the arm must be lightning fast and dry.
that moves on tiptoe before leaving the ground.Execution
- Contact the ball with the arm at maximum extension;
- Contact the ball in front of the shoulder making the dunk;
- The ball is impacted with the palm of the hand;
- Hit the ball in the back center;
- Make a quick and strong movement of the wrist;
- The hand wraps around the top of the ball.
Continuation
- During contact, keep your eyes on the ball;
- Go back down to the ground;
- Bend the knees to cushion the descent;
- Forcefully slide your hand along your side.
