Most commonly, the cause of this cracking is infectious. However, the onset of angular cheilitis can be predisposed by numerous other factors, including local trauma, chronic irritation, allergies, nutritional deficiencies (eg. Zinc, iron or vitamin B12 deficiency), malnutrition and general debilitation. (diabetes, taking certain medicines, etc.).
The bush looks like a small cut, similar to a fissure, of the labial commissures and the adjacent skin, covered with crusts. The area appears red and is very painful, especially with the opening movements of the mouth.
The treatment of angular cheilitis is based, first of all, on the recognition and removal of the triggering cause.

The disorder tends to occur mainly in people who have compromised immune defenses, therefore inefficient.
