For the human being, sleep is naturally concentrated in the night hours, from dusk to dawn. This does not mean that it is incorrect to rest at other times as well, but it must be done in addition to the primary sleep. Those who work following shifts, or travel by plane by changing the time zone, must do so taking care to respect the right recoveries to ensure the minimum hours of sleep.
Sleep discomforts are very common today, affecting some subjects more frequently than others.
: who suffers from it?Statistically, women seem to be less able to sleep well than men, and the elderly compared to young people; it should be specified that many typically female physiological aspects such as menstrual pain, menopause and pregnancy can significantly influence sleep.
It goes without saying that the incidence of sleep disturbances is higher in industrialized countries and even more so in the Nordic countries, in latitudes where the hours of light and dark follow very different rhythms throughout the year.
Highly stressed people, the depressed, the anxious, drug addicts, alcoholics and most of those who suffer from symptoms or pathologies of a psychological-neurological-psychiatric nature do not sleep well.
