Generality

Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation in women of childbearing age. Distinguished into primary and secondary, it can depend on numerous factors; in fact, the main causes of amenorrhea include: pregnancy, menopause, the use of specific drugs, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, malnutrition, excessive stress, drug use, pituitary tumors or of the hypothalamus, Sheehan's syndrome, Turner's syndrome and anatomical anomalies of the female genital system.

Generally, the presence of amenorrhea is accompanied by: headache, hirsutism, acne, vision disturbances, loss of breast milk, vaginal dryness, hair loss and / or hot flashes.
