Carrefour Italia continues to implement Act For Food, the plan of concrete actions to eat better in line with the food transition, and it does so by organizing an annual food education program dedicated to children, which takes the name of Act For Food Kids.
The project, carried out with the support of the "Istituto Auxologico Italiano, was born from the desire of Carrefour Italia to join the Saturdays for future movement, officially launched by NeXt and the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) and born with the aim of changing habits of expenditure, making concrete the commitment to sustainable development.
Act for Food Kids, in fact, it aims to "talk to children", teaching them, through simple communication and a playful language, how to recognize healthy food and, more generally, how to make food choices that in the long run can actually change habits of an entire generation.
The activity, inserted within the transformation plan Act For Food, represents only one of the numerous Carrefour Italia projects carried out in order to contribute to the awareness by consumers - even the smallest ones as in this case - on the sustainability of food production and consumption models, and well it goes tie with the movement of Saturdays for Future, to which Carrefour Italia has strongly decided to join and commit.
"Prevention is the main tool at our disposal to live better and longer and is implemented with a healthy lifestyle of which nutrition is a cornerstone - explained Cecilia Invitti, doctor, endocrinologist, researcher in the metabolic and nutritional field. dell "Auxologico - The behaviors adopted in childhood have a high probability of taking root, for this reason it is very useful to spread the culture of nutrition as a medicine to children who, understanding its bases, will be able to adopt it more easily throughout their lives. The spread and application of a healthy food culture has been one of the main commitments of the Italian Auxological Institute for more than 30 years, which has implemented various initiatives aimed at children and their families for the prevention and treatment of problems connected with improper nutrition. large-scale distribution plays a fundamental role in encouraging the adoption of a healthy diet (through the offer and easy identification of products with high nutritional and sustainable value), we found in Carrefour Italia an attentive interlocutor and therefore welcomed the proposal with pleasure. of a collaboration in this initiative aimed at children and their families ».
