Generality
The vagina is an elastic muscular canal which, in women, extends from the neck of the uterus to the vestibule, a space bounded by the external genitalia.
Belonging to the female genital system, the vagina has a length of 8-10 centimeters and a slightly oblique orientation, which from the top goes down and forwards.
Above, the vagina inserts itself into the cervix, while below it crosses the pelvic floor and opens into the vestibule of the vulva.
