ZINC OXIDE UNGUENTO ® is a drug based on Zinc oxide.
THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Emollient and protective
Indications ZINC OXIDE UNGUENTO ® Zinc oxide
ZINC OXIDE UNGUENTO ® is used in the treatment of small skin disorders such as dermatosis and eczema.
Mechanism of action ZINC OXIDE UNGUENTO ® Zinc oxide
Zinc oxide, suitably mixed with specific buffers and acquired the pharmaceutical form of ointment, can be effectively and easily used in the treatment of minor dermatological pathologies such as eczema and dermatoses in general.
Different studies have demonstrated the therapeutic properties of this compound underlining the cytoprotective action against ultraviolet radiation, anti-irritant, healing and anti-inflammatory.
In spite of the defined therapeutic characteristics, the mechanism of action of zinc oxide has not yet been fully characterized, hypothesizing in addition to the crucial role of cofactor and catalyst also a modulator of gene expression, controlling the expression of the genes involved in inflammation.
