In this regard, on March 19, 2020, the Head of the Civil Protection Department signed a new ordinance that allows citizens to use alternative means to the classic paper memo of an electronic medical prescription.
Before the current emergency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, in fact, citizens, by going to the doctor, could personally collect the paper memo to be delivered to the pharmacy to obtain the dispensing of the necessary drug (s).
These displacements, albeit necessary, in the current emergency situation could worsen the - already quite critical - picture of the spread of infections in Italy. The purpose of the new ordinance of the Head of the Civil Protection Department is precisely to limit the movements of people, with the ultimate aim of trying to reduce the spread of the virus as much as possible.
- in order to limit the movement of citizens - this health figure can:
- Send the paper memo to your client in dematerialized form (as attachment) through an e-mail message in cases where the patient has provided the doctor with his / her certified e-mail address (PEC) or his ordinary e-mail address (PEO).
- Communicate to your client - if in possession of the mobile phone number of the same - the Electronic Recipe Number through a simple SMS or through mobile phone applications that allow the exchange of text messages and images. In the latter case, the doctor can also send the image of the bar code of the same Electronic Prescription Number.
- Communicate verbally via telephone - landline or mobile, depending on the data provided by the client - the Electronic Prescription Number.
In addition to what has been said so far, all citizens who have activated the Electronic Health Record (FSE) will be able to obtain the reminder, then the Electronic Recipe Number directly from this "dematerialized" health record after entering their access credentials. The availability of the dematerialized electronic prescription within the FSE is almost immediate; in fact, it is indexed in the health record at the same time as the prescription made by the doctor in the Central Hospitality System or in the Regional Hospitality System (SAC or SAR system).
