To be honest, more than a real massage, reiki is a kind of discipline that aims to cure ailments of any kind through the transfer of energy from the hands of the practitioner to the individual who undergoes this practice or massage, whatever you want.
It is believed that reiki massage has its roots in a very ancient past, but that its practice was developed and perfected only in the second half of the nineteenth century, in Japan, by Mikao Usui.
Deriving from the words "rei" - which can be translated as "spiritual" - and "ki" - which can be translated as "vital energy" - reiki massage is considered as a spiritual practice used as a form of alternative therapeutic treatment to cure any type of ailment, possibly in association with other treatments of alternative medicine or modern medicine.
Despite this, it should be emphasized that there are no scientific studies capable of confirming the effectiveness of this practice which, therefore, is NOT accepted by modern medicine.
