The pace of daily life, especially in Western countries, is frenetic and punctuated by a thousand deadlines. This continuous vortex that surrounds us every day involves body and mind. We can give the body respite with physical exercise and restful sleep but we never take care of our mind, constantly trapped in the whirlwinds of thoughts, the famous "vritti" in Sanskrit.
The mind, even during sleep, is continually stimulated by the dream activity. This is why it is important to meditate for yoga (and not only), because meditation is the only way to give respite to the mind and stabilize it.
For further information: Surya Bhedana: breathing that invigorates mind and body so that the knees are lower than the hips. Keep your back straight with your chin parallel to the floor, bring your hands on your knees with your thumb and forefinger gently united in chin mudra, the gesture that represents the union of man with the universal spirit. Your eyes are closed and your inner gaze goes to the third eye, seat of Anja, the chakra of intuition, in correspondence with the pineal gland.
Connect with your breath and try to keep your back straight and your body still, as if you were a statue, bring all your attention to the breath, which is the only active part of your body. Observe the flow of air entering and exiting the nostrils. Feel the quality of the air, feel that the air enters fresh and exits heated, bring all your attention to these sensations.
If any thought comes to your mind and distracts you from the observation of the breath, observe it, let it go and bring your attention back to the air that enters and leaves your body. Then gradually abandon the observation of the breath and start to mentally repeat the mantra OM, the sound of the primordial cosmic vibration and bring all your attention to this. Feel the sound vibrate and invade your mind, try to stop every thought, to perceive just the sound of OM vibration.
I immerse myself completely in listening to this sound, OM ... OM ... OM. The inner gaze is always fixed on the third eye, and the vibration of the primordial sound continues to echo in your mind, bringing peace and tranquility to your heart. and soul
