- 182 KCal Calories per serving
-
Ingrediants
- 250 g of sandwich bread
- 100 g of spreadable cheese
- 100 g of mushroom sauce or green sauce
- 100 g of cooked ham
- Grilled food: 100 g of courgettes
- 1 bunch of rocket
- A few basil leaves
- 30 g of cherry tomatoes
Materials Needed
- Aluminum bowl with a diameter of 16 or 18 cm
- Transparent film
- Knife
- Spread
Preparation
- Cut the bread from sandwiches so as to obtain many small isosceles triangles (2 equal sides).
- Line the aluminum or glass bowl with cling film to be able to remove the sandwich cake more easily.
Remember that
The smaller and more regular the triangles of bread, the better the charlotte will look.
If the bread has a crust, I recommend removing it with a knife to get perfect triangles.
For a beautiful effect, we recommend using a deep, concave, tall and narrow bowl.- Line the bowl placing the sharpest corner of the triangles perfectly in the center of the mold: place the triangles neatly, one next to the other, until all the sides of the container are lined.
- Fill the inside of the bread with spreadable cheese, rocket and cooked ham.
- Create a second layer of triangles, following the procedure described in point 3, and possibly using smaller triangles.
- Spread a layer of mushroom sauce and stuff with grilled zucchini.
Did you know that
Of course, the filling can be changed according to one's taste.
Here are other interesting combinations:- Green sauce and smoked salmon
- Ricotta and eggplant
- Mayonnaise and mushrooms
- Paté of olives and robiola
- Repeat the previous operation, covering with another layer of bread triangles and stuffing with spreadable cheese, basil and cherry tomatoes.
- Spread the entire surface with sauce or spreadable cheese and cover with whole slices of toasted bread.
- Cover the bowl with cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least two hours, preferably overnight.
- After the necessary time, turn the bread cake upside down, decorate as desired and serve by cutting it into slices.
- Keep refrigerated and consume within a couple of days
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
I would compare this sandwich cake to the sweet charlotte: the bread, arranged in this way, gives the same effect as the ladyfingers in the charlotte! You can also use rye bread or black bread for a more rustic version!Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
