Ever heard of Tirokafteri? It is a well-known Greek sauce, a special spicy sauce that features Feta Cheese and Greek Yogurt.
The preparation is really very, very simple and the result is great: I hadn't tried it yet and the flavor won me over!

For the Tirokafteri sauce
- 150 g of feta
- 100 g of Greek yogurt
- 1 piece or 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 10 ml of untreated lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1 tablespoon (20 g) of black olives

Preparation
- To prepare Tirokafteri, cut the feta cheese into cubes and reduce it to a cream using a blender or simply mashing it with a fork. Mix the feta cream obtained with Greek yogurt, then flavor with lemon juice, plenty of chilli, oregano and extra virgin olive oil.

If you like a softer cream, blend feta and Greek yogurt with a drop of milk until you get the desired consistency.
There is no need to add salt as feta cheese is very tasty.
The original recipe calls for the use of sinful chilli paste, but if you can't find it, you can also use chilli powder.
- Tirokafteri sauce is ready: you can use it to fill canapés or to spread it on croutons, just like Tzatziki sauce. Accompany the Tirokafteri sauce with black olives.

A very curious variant? Try adding some chopped walnuts: I think the combination is perfect! Use this sauce to accompany raw vegetables or with pita bread!

Tirokafteri is a fairly caloric recipe that belongs to the set of condiments.
Energy is mainly supplied by lipids, followed by proteins and finally by carbohydrates. Fatty acids are mainly unsaturated, peptides with a high biological value and simple carbohydrates. Cholesterol is relevant and fiber is insignificant. It does not contain gluten. It is instead rich. lactose and contains histamine.
In the right quantities, Tirokafteri lends itself to most diets. Excess is contraindicated for overweight and hypercholesterolemia. It is not relevant in lactose and histamine intolerance; on the contrary, it has no negative implications for celiac disease. Respect the vegetarian philosophy but not the vegan one.
The average portion of Tirokafteri is about 20-30 g (40-65 kcal).
