Although they are not a medical problem, black dark circles can represent a cosmetic defect for a large number of people, as, with their edges, they emphasize the periocular region. The effect produced by their presence is, therefore, that of a tired face, with a dull and uneven complexion.
Black dark circles can appear for a variety of reasons. The most common reasons include particularly intense stress, dehydration, poor rest, changes in skin pigmentation, poor nutrition, capillary fragility and atopic or allergic contact dermatitis. Sometimes, even black dark circles can be among the symptoms of anemia or a thyroid disorder.
The treatments available for these unwanted dark halos are different and include more or less invasive cosmetic remedies and aesthetic medicine procedures.
