The causes that favor its onset can be various and include obstructions in the genitourinary tract, dysfunction of the muscles or nerves that control the bladder and the intake of certain medications.

The bladder globe is associated with difficult or absent urination, suprapubic pain (especially during palpation) and reduced contractility of the bladder.This condition, if not resolved in a short time, can lead to permanent damage of the detrusor muscle, in addition to predisposing to urinary tract infections and nephropathies.

Bladder globe therapy depends on the specific cause that led to the accumulation and retention of urine in the bladder.
